This Is For

Someone who can read Japanese.
Go girl, I'm not big fan of you though what a heck YOU ARE CANADIAN. I love you for that.

Ugh!

My Stereo is dying. I should say it's already half dead. Tape deck part has been dead for more than years. And now, CD part is dying. I punched it so hard this morning and I cut my fist. There're still some CDs which my CD player still loves. Maroon5's "Songs about Jane", John Mayer's "Room for squares", New Pornographers's "Mass Romantic" and now I'm listening to Versus's "Hurrah". Could be there's more though I'm just tired of punching and slapping my player now.
I noticed my CD player is dying because I took out Marron5 from the player this morning and put Ben Folds's Sunny 16.

My player didn't like it. So it stopped working. Even after my punch, it doesn't work. Gosh that means I need to buy new player?!

Listening to Versus makes me think of my friend in Edmonton/Canada. Barb is one of my favourite friends who I really love. Barb and I went to see Versus together couple times when we both lived in Toronto. We went to see so many bands back then. Sleater-Kinney, Mary Lou Lord, Julie Doiron, Cat Power etc etc. And Barb drove us to get some good bubble tea before/after shows... wish I could go back then. ohhhh, I guess I'm getting old feeling like this! I will dig up some of my old CDs today. I already got Plumtree and Mike O'Neil from my shelves as I write this. All those Canadian indie bands I loved. (Oh btw, one of the member of Plumtree is in Japan teaching English now. She's here for JET!)

Thinking

Similar things.
I was thinking similar things as Matt did. Some girls here want to speak only English when they go out with English speaking guys.
I guess I'm the other way. I like seeing guys who trys to speak Japanese. Sure they are English native though at the moment they are in Japan. Why shouldn't they learn some Japanese? (or at least try?)
My date (I'm not sure that we had a date though I can't think of anything to call him for) over the weekend, he can speak Japanese, not fluent though pretty good. I enjoyed talking to him. If he's fluent then I don't mind only talking in Japanese.
Btw, I might post my personal stuff to other blog. cuz I noticed that people at work found out this and sometime checking. I don't think they really understand what I'm saying here though they would understand something like "date" or "BF/GF". Oh well, even if I decided to start other blog, I would tell you the new address if you ask me. :) And I will keep this blog too.

It's Kinda

Fun just going to Osaka for a day. And as I guessed, I haven't done much. I walked around Nanba for a while though. (bit disappointed about GAP in Nagahoribashi... cuz I didn't find anything I want! ... anything which was on sale anyways)
Saturday night was a rush. I just thank for my dad. Otherwise I would've missed the bus.
Today, other than the shopping and walking around Shinsanbashi. It was a relaxed Sunday. Thanks again for some of you who suggested me a good date spots. (or who wished me luck!) He is sick. no, no he isn't a pervert. hehe He got a cold and pretty sick. So we stayed inside. Maybe next time...

Oh I saw him at Ebisubashi.

I know, you are looking at my bad pics again. Though it was f&%$ing cold and lots of people were in front of me. (excuse excuse... haha)
Btw, if you didn't live in Osaka maybe you don't know that guy. He's Takenori Emoto. Ex-baseball player who is running for a governor of Osaka.

Busy Day

Tomorrow. I will finish my work at 18:50, go home, get ready and catch 19:50 bus. Luckily, my dad will pick me up at work. (Thank you dad!) Haven't decided what I'm gonna do this weekend in Osaka though maybe not much. Just hanging out I guess.

Oh and sorry that some of you who've written me emails and haven't gotten reply. I will be writing you when I come back from Osaka. I feel really bad cuz I'm usually very good at replying emails. Oh well, hope you would understand!

Wow

It was cold! I used my winter coat first time in this winter.
It snowed though just for a while and it's really windy, so didn't stay on the ground.
So I took my bike to work as usual.

I didn't see the elephant today. I think they are moving him (I think it's him) to somewhere.

I know I haven't posted any pics lately though I just don't have a time and haven't seen anything interesting.
oh well...

Secretive

well, being secretive wasn't one of my new year's resolutions, though I'm trying it. It actually isn't that hard since I haven't seen any of my friends lately. I mean I haven't seen anyone except my family and people at work face to face. Some of my friends already noticed that I've been very secretive. (and trying to find out what it is) Though they haven't figured it out. And if I want to keep that secret. Nobody would ever know. This is kinda interesting and pretty new experience for me. I've been very open and tell anything to my friends.
well, I'm pretty much "going my way" type though still if I told something to friends and they commented about it or even looking at their face were affecting my decisions. (I guess...)
Now, it's all mine. All up to me. Only I know what's going on.

oh well, one secret will be released... maybe in a week or so. Though I know I will find something to hide soon enough. haha

though still pissed.
What a beautiful day today was.
WHY WHY it snowed yesterday?! What did I do?!

Oh well...
Today, I did nothing. Oh I got a package from my ex. Got my clothes back. And I don't remember what I left there anymore. He said he sent me two packages so still one more to receive.
Smell of him made me little sad though...
now I am happy to have MORE CLOTHES. really.

Stress Relief

well, not much...
I had to postpone my MUCH NEEDED vacation in Tokyo with my friends.
I got up early, called ANA and make sure my flight wasn't canceled. My dad drove me to the airport in snow. And when I got to the airport. I felt not good. Cuz I could see many people were standing inside. That's not good. I went inside.
"8:15 flight is canceled."
...................................................... sigh
Though I can re-book my flight sometime in 30days from tomorrow. I'm thinking week after next weekend. (Jan 31, Feb 1) I need to check my schedule at work and ANA website.

well, I went shopping with my mom. Could've been Roppongi Hills, but Yume-town (aka Izumiya)... though I had good shopping.

70% off

Both more than 40% off.

So I'm feeling little bit better... though I still need to get out to see my friends. I think I will go to Osaka to visit some friends next weekend. Even though I have to work on Saturday...

Watching Territory?

I mentioned about him last night. And we talked tonight as well. I told about my trip to Tokyo and I'm gonna stay at my guy friend's place. He asked me if I can call him from Tokyo. So I said why not. Though I'm thinking he doesn't usually ask me to call him this often. Now I'm his territory??? Oh well, I will figure it out some other time... Need to pack!

English

I spoke English today. Haven't spoken for a while. When I went to Miyajima, I didn't speak English much with Nathan. Cuz his Japanese is good! Actually the person who I talked to today sounded he can understands some Japanese though.
I remember that most people who talked to me in English said same things... there're two things. Though I just leave one alone today. Other thing is,
"Your LEALLY is REALLY CUTE!"
Yeah, I'm Japanese what are you expecting? hehe
I think this is a good part of me. I would be careful as much as I can though I don't worry too much. Once you start to worry, you might become shy to do something.
I don't LEALLY mind as long as people who I'm talking to understand what I'm saying!
Anyways, it was fun talking to him. Oh I have a question! (if someone actually reading this) where should I go for a date in Osaka? My favourite places when I lived there (more than 10 years ago... sigh) are museum in Banpaku Koen, Suma aquarium. well, Suma isn't really Osaka though... I love there more than Kaiyu-kan... oh and Tennoji zoo.
Email me or leave comments here!

Remember

I was reading I don't mind if you forget me and she talked about Great Hanshin Earthquake. And I also found an article about it at Japan Times. I remember the day. I watched the news when I woke up. I went to a bank (I was working at a bank then) and heard that some people who worked that bank were missing. All of my friends from University lived in Kansai area that time and I was thinking about them all day. Tried to call them whenever I had sometime. (no cell phone back then) I could hear from my friends next day though I was still shaky. Two of my friends and their family lost their houses. Feels like long time ago and also feel it just happened recently. I'd like to visit the art exhibition though I will be in Tokyo that weekend.

Tamura-jinja

This is our neighbourhood shrine.

Me spinning my 干支 (eto = Chinese zodiac signs), 丑 (ushi = cow). oh, yeah, I'm making a wish. It was very heavy! Look at mom spinning her eto, Monkey. It was very light and easy for mom to do it.

and finally, going home.

Little bit tired me...
though I had a good day.

Shirotori-jinja

We didn't go today though back of this shrine, there's a beach. Very quiet and nice.

They don't have しめ縄 (shimenawa), but this.

狛犬 (komainu) a pair of stone guardian dogs in front of shrine. Though those ones look very modern.

Thank you!

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a relax one.

Today, I got a phone call at my cell. I didn't recognize the number and I was still working, so I didn't pick it up. That person left a voice mail, so I listened to it after work. It was my friend from university. He and I were close long time ago, though now we only exchange New Years cards. This year, I wrote my cell phone # on the card, so he called. I think I will visit him and other close friend of mine Megumi in Fukuoka sometime in March.
His voice mail made my day. He sounds exactly same as I remember. I was chuckling all the way home.
He was one of the first people who I wanted to be friends with. Maybe it's only me to feel this way though I've been feeling that making friends at elementary and Jr high school was mostly not my choice. Well, it's my choice though it already narrowed down. I mean you usually would chose your friends in your class. And how many people in your class? 30? Even in high school, I only had friends in my classes. I always felt this pressure that I need to be friends with kids in my classes.
In university, I got some friends from outside of my small circle. I always had friends around me since I was a kid, though found real friends much later. Some of my high school friends recently became real friends.
Friends are one of the most important things in my life and I tend to make more and more till the end of my life!

Our Tradition

Nanakusa-gayu.

People wish for healthy life in the morning of January 7 and eat rice porridge which contains seven spring herbs. (Seri, Nazuna, Gogyou, Hakobera, Hotokenoza, Suzuna and Suzushiro.) It's said this custom is from China and it started in Japan at the Edo period. It is simple and good for your stomach after you've eaten lots of goodies for New Years.

Not Surprised Anymore?

I got a funny email today. Well, I'm getting used to it lately... it's from the penpal site. There's a guy who's one of those "I'm looking for nice Asian woman for romance" type. And my usual answer to those guys who I assume he would be quite older than me, "I'm not really looking for romance right now and I have to tell you that I'm not interested in going out with older guy. Sorry if this offends you." Today this guy emailed me back. With 7 pictures of HIM. And no notes. I can't decide either if he wanted me to think "well, he's not that old." OR he just wanted to give me heavy pics to download. Oh and, HE IS OLD! haha

Cuteness

I noticed that I have a weakness for guy's cuteness. Both appearance and interior. So I probably don't fall for guys who's all cool and tough. Or serious and no cuteness. I also noticed that I have quite some guy friends who has Japanese GF or wants to have Japanese GF. Though none of them are MY BF. hahaha
I noticed those when I was talking to my friend Steve. He's one of them who's looking for Japanese GF. Well, listen up Japanese girls in Vancouver, he's looking for a nice girl there. He's seriously one of the cutest guys I've ever met in Canada. (there you go Steve, Happy New Year sweetie.)
